Dialogues

The Katharine J Densford International Center for Nursing Leadership Next System Dialogues connect the UMN campus and community for thinking systemically about what makes a healthy community through education, practice, research, and project development. The dialogues provides a time, place, and variety of process methodologies for convening people to have creative conversations, learning and community action teams for innovating healthy communities in Minnesota.
“We need to have leaders in communities who are open to new ideas and begin to understand the challenges they face  in transforming their approach to the future systemically - how they connect ideas, people, and process ... in support of continuous innovation." Rick Smyre - Preparing for a World That Doesn't Exist - Yet
The Next System Dialogues are facilitated by Vicki O'Day, visionary, educator, and community organizer and by Dr. Daniel J Pesut, Professor of Nursing and Director of the Densford Center for Nursing Leadership.

Next System Dialogues build transformational leadership capacities by employing frameworks, methods, tools and personal agency to facilitate futures generative dialogues, participatory learning practices, and action research for boldly innovating, designing, and creating next systems and learning programs that promote healthy communities.

Join us for our next dialogue on October 27th, 2016 from 6:30-8pm as we connect to synthesize and prototype.

The MN Next System Project Community of Practice reconvenes to synthesize data collected at the Minnesota State Fair and during the September 19th Teach-in. The healthy community needs assessment findings inform us as we prototype and co-evolve our next step. Based on our learnings, we’ll use the MIT Theory U framework to come up with prototypes of possible pilots as our contribution to creating the Next System.

Whatever comes will contribute to the University of Minnesota campus and larger community conversation. The intention of the MN Next System Project Community is to…

Develop leadership capacities through learning opportunities that enhance our skills and capacities for creating “next systems” that will serve the emergence of healthy communities of the future.
